Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign is less than a month old but the latest New York Times/Siena College polls already show her leading former President Donald Trump in the critical battlegrounds of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Before President Joe Biden left the presidential race in July, he held a small advantage over Trump in an earlier Times/Siena survey of Wisconsin, but trailed the former president in Michigan and Pennsylvania. That worried Democratic leaders at the time. Biden's standing in those states had deteriorated and threatened not only his reelection bid but that of down-ballot candidates too
In the latest polling, Harris showed strong results among the groups she'll need to win over to defeat Trump in the November general election.

Wisconsin is a really tough state because they don't like anybody. I suspect it's why Hilary never campaigned there. Which proved to be the wrong strategy. It's no wonder Trump would win a meat and cheese state in 2016, nobody in Wisconsin liked the Clintons.

The New York Times cited two people who, on different occasions, heard Trump call Harris a “b——.” The people were granted anonymity to describe private discussions.
In response, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said, “That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala and it’s not how the campaign would characterize her.”

Most polls have trump losing, and yet today Trump said his own internal polls show a different story. In the long history of US politics when the trailing candidate says his/her internal polling has the race tighter, it's usual means that candidate is in serious trouble. |
