Of all places, you show up here? While I'm battling spammers no less. I think I finally have them figured out. But I had to shut down new membership for a while. Not that anyone is breaking the doors down over here. I just didn't like the way Chinese spammers were filling it with dummy threads. Welcome back Kotter! i peeked the other site and saw your link so i thought i would check in...happy new year!! |

I came back this time because of the Chinese spam. Years with no activity and then bam, rogue threads all over the place. |

I've used that metaphor initially to describe how this place gave us a destination for 10 days until TF became reality. The Titanic was an accident, lots of lifeboats, but not enough to save everyone. What happened at Hip Forums was no accident. I was a moderator, so I got to see it unfold from a vantage. At first my questions were answered, but then I asked about Candy. It was after 6 or 7 members were banned. I was told they crossed the line and "threatened" other members. I went through the threads and saw none of that. But I did see huge chunks of dialog were missing because some sections of a thread were missing posts. Then I saw where some of mine were deleted as well. That's when I decided I had enough and started pulling down my content. Unfortunately I didn't get all of my book deleted, so the remnants that remain are picking the story up from an odd angle. Oddly, the first chapter that I posted on Hippy.com back in 2002 was still up until a couple of years ago. As soon as they revoked my moderator card I was unable to delete anything else and of course there was no way to "quit" thanks to weirdness from Skip. So I left and went to reddit with a group of the banned. Reddit is a shitty interface after using forum software for a decade or so. I was already deep into free providers for web radio so I went looking for free forums. This one seemed to be the best deal. Especially for remaining totally anonymous. My IP address drops you in front of a panel that's 40 miles from me. Hip Forums was more like the Achille Lauro. |

Well I wasn't expecting that for a reply! But informative. My view is that the Titanic was an act of recklessness but anyway.
I agree with you about Reddit. Never joined it for that reason as well as the interface looked like an old Usenet group.

I Joined Reddit Four Years Ago Because I Have Stretched Ears And They Have A Forum Called Stretched. Generally Moderated OK, But Other Forums Seem To Consist Of People Who Only Go There To Spew Hate.....  Cheers Glen. |

Its not very encouraging I dont want Discovery 2.0 I gave up watching that early in season 4 Just too woke and too whack Even strange new worlds, which I will watch because its closer to the early formula...even that is still a bit, come on, even in 300 years you are not going to have that many female bridge officers Its going to be Star Trek: DEI academy, I just know it |
