You guys are sooo unoriginal. What fun is keeping the same usernames as before?  Later gators. typically i agree. but in this case i only changed it a little because 1) everyone else seems to be keeping the same names and i have to fit in with the crowd, 2) it reduces confusion, and 3) i saw that there was already a forum named after me and it would have made no sense if i was called something else. plus i got here pretty late last night and wasn't feeling particularly creative. i wonder if this forum has a name change option? I tried to use exactly the same username as my reddit username but it only accepted the first part. So i changed it. But i like this username anyway. Its quite fitting. |

I gotta cook tonight. Hamburger Helper with ground turkey instead of ground beef. The cheapest ground beef is still over $4 per pound; the turkey was $2.77 a pound. With enough ground pepper and Tabasco it's edible. I dunno what is going on with grocery prices here but ground beef is almost 10 bucks a pound. I'm paying double what I was paying at the grocery store a couple of months ago |

I'm paying double what I was paying at the grocery store a couple of months ago Beef is going crazy. I used to buy lean. maybe $2.50/lb sort of beef cuts for my dogs. Those are $8/lb now. The dogs are fine with the much cheaper pork I bought for them. I feed them normal dog food as well, but I think real carnivores deserve real meat every so often. |

I'm on my work computer. You know, if we took down the unrolled joint and changed a few things around, we could make this site look like a benign corporate site of some sort. The content would be the same ultimately, but it would be hidden among all kinds of threads named after corporate shiit. And we change the name to something like "Risk Analysis and Investigation Forums" or what have you. When I worked for Sony they'd biatch about anyone reading the news during work hours. Since the whole place was about embedded software, all kinds of code was usually on people's screens. I shared a cube with an Indian woman named Tamana who was horribly homesick and just wanted to read the news a little. Now this woman was the most capable code cruncher on the team, but she lacked a raft of common sense. So I showed her how to call up a new site in code view and just seek the story text. She acted like I had just invented a secret digital spy network. The next day screens all over cubicle land were in code view. Not one of the other managers noticed a thing. They were looking for banners and photographs. All corporations seem to have their weird pet peeves they enforce like Barney Fife. Coding landmarks started sliding and within a month productivity was half what it should have been. Which meant my job was SO much easier. fark Sony! |
