ya know I've never even had a scone before. Must be one of the limitations of growing up in the US Starbuck's has them. Get something to drink though, they're dry as dust. Like strudel usually is. Must be some strange Scones you have over there !

Scones like a phone should never be dry.. they are made with butter and milk.. then fruit added..
Strangely there is little sugar.. but I use stevia.. but... do you add your cream or strawberry jam first?
I put the jam so it covers the buttered scone,, then just dollop the clotted cream on..yummmmm
Oh, and I never use squirty cream... it tastes of gas and melts..

This is absolutely 💯 percent true A lot of American food is too extra for me. I mean, do we really need to put high fructose corn syrup in literally everything? seems to be a lot of extra colourings.. this is from the article i was reading: "Europe takes a “precautionary principle” approach towards food additives that are potentially risky. They ban or add warning labels to these additives for their citizens. The U.S. takes the opposite approach. It does not remove additives from our food supply until they have been proven dangerous – which can take a very long time and a lot of red tape. This means Americans are literally the lab rats." Yeah we like our weird colors and unnecessary additives. I think its cultural tho. In the US food is entertainment, eating is an activity that people do for fun, not a necessary refueling for life functions I guess im actually part of the problem tho 🤷

Dont make sense doing it the other way, as the jam falls off..... unless your doing it as an open scone for display, then they are in a box holding it together lol

I think I did it the "Devon way" the first time.. haha.. but you say about butter, jam, cream.. makes sense. I was thinking of the cream as being in place of the butter! So cream, them jam.
Yum.

for the record, it isn't taking all that I'm posting...I said several (4 of 5) sentences. All spaced out. Then I had to click it twice to accept "post quick reply". Is that just me? i haven't had that issue, but about 4ish times tonight i haven't been able to just click on the link to read the next page of a thread; nothing happens on a regular click and i have to right click and open in a new tab. i also find it funny that 6's man cave thread has become about tea and scones. someone should create a she shed thread so we can talk about guns or something.

Something is up. It took forever to change the banner image. And the one that's there is not the one I wanted. But it's a version of it, so I left it in place.
